Examination Pattern

Class Nursery - KG

The academic session is divided into three cycles.

  • Cycle I
  • Cycle II
  • Cycle II

The evaluation will be continuous, comprehensive and internal where only grading system will be applicable.

Classes III- V

Assessment is a systematic process of evaluating students learning, skills and overall Academic Progress. It not only measures academic knowledge, but also evaluates critical thinking, creativity, problem solving abilities and social skills.

The Evaluation system consists of both Scholastic as well as Co- Scholastic areas.

The Academic Session comprises of two terms: Term I and Term II

Assessment will be done regularly throughout the Academic Session as per the weightage of marks given below:

Attendance of the Student 05 Marks.
Subject Enrichment 05 Marks.
Project Based Activities 05 Marks.
Note Book/ Portfolio 05 Marks.
Multiple Assessment 05 Marks.
Periodic Test 05 Marks.
Mid Term Exam/ Half Yearly Exam 20 Marks.
Annual Examination 50 Marks.
Total 100 Marks.

a) Internal Assessment : 30 Marks

1. Periodic Test – 05 marks

  • One written test will be conducted for 25 marks per term and 05 marks weightage will be taken for final marking.

2. Multiple Assessment: 05 marks.

  • It includes Reading, Recitation, Dodging table, Oral tests, etc.

3. Note Book : 05 marks.

  • Maintaining note book along with regularity in submission, neatness, completion of work on time, etc.

4. Subject Enrichment Activities: 05 Marks.

  • Subject Specific Activities aimed at the understanding and skill development like listening and speaking, model making, role play, etc.

5. Project Based Activities: 05 Marks.

  • Project work, Practical work, etc.

6. Attendance: 05 Marks

b) Mid Term / Half Yearly & Annual Examination: Pen and paper exam will be conducted for 50 Marks each at the end of each term.

Assessment of Co-Scholastic Area:

Work Ex, art, music, dance, physical edu, etc. will be assessed continuously and graded on a 3-point grading scale (A to C).

Promotion Policy

*Students of classes III and IV will not be detained.

Passing Criteria for Class V

A student must secure at least 33% marks in each subject studied by her during the session to be declared PASS. It is also subject to the condition that a minimum of 25% of marks must be scored in Half Yearly Exam plus Annual Exam.

After retest if a student is not able to score minimum pass percentage, the student will be declared Essential Repeat in the same class.

Note: Every student must have a minimum of 75% attendance, failing which she will not be allowed to sit in the Final Examination.

  • In order to be declared ‘Pass’, a student must secure 33% in each subject in the Final Examination.
    [Internal Assessment (20) + Term Exams (80)]

BOTH FINAL & CUMULATIVE 33% EACH.

  • Minimum of 25% marks should be secured in Annual Exam (out of 80 marks) i.e. 20 marks minimum in Annual Exam.
  • A student will have to obtain 33% marks in two languages.
    In case a student does not secure 33% marks, in any one language, she has to appear for Compartment exam.
  • Skill Subject will not replace any elective subject.
  • Skill subject, secure 33% in Practical and Theory.
  • Student not eligible to be declared ‘Pass’ shall be declared ‘Promoted’, if she is entitled for grace marks.

COMARTMENT EXAMINATION:

  • Student can be declared eligible for appearing at the Compartment Exam in not more than two failing subjects in the third week of April.
  • A student will have to secure 33% in the Compartment Exam to be promoted to the next higher class.
  • If a student fails/ absent in one subject and ML is submitted then she will be eligible for Compartment in failing subjects as well as the subjects in which medical is submitted.

ATTENDANCE

  • • Every student must have a minimum of 75% attendance, failing which he/she will not be allowed to sit in the final examination/will not be promoted to the next higher class, as per the CBSE guidelines.

PRINCIPAL

CLASS X

Academic Session comprises of Internal Assessment, Half Yearly Exam and Board Exam.

Internal Assessment – 20 marks

1. Periodic Test – 5 mark weightage

  • Three written tests will be conducted for 25 marks and the average of the best two PTs (out of three) will be considered for final marking.

2. Multiple Assessment – 05 mark weightage

  • Oral tests, individual or group work, class discussion, concept maps, etc.

3. Portfolio – 05 marks weightage

  • Class work, homework, exemplary work of the student, etc.

4. Subject Enrichment Activities – 05 mark weightage

  • Subject Specific Enrichment Activities aimed at the understanding and skill development like Speaking and Listening, Lab activities, Practical work, Project work etc.

Half Yearly Exam and Preboard Exam– 80 marks


Board Exams will be conducted at the end of the session by CBSE.

ATTENDANCE

  • Every student is required to maintain a minimum of 75% attendance. Failure to meet this requirement will result in the student being not eligible to appear in the final examination and/or not being promoted to the next class, in accordance with CBSE guidelines.
  • Students are strongly discouraged from missing any assessments. In case of a medical emergency, a valid medical certificate must be submitted to the school for consideration.
  • In order to be declared ‘Pass’, a student must secure 33% in each subject in the Final Examination.

SCHEME OF ASSESSMENT

  • Two Periodic Tests of 25 marks each will be conducted during the academic year.
  • Half-Yearly and Annual Examinations will be conducted in accordance with CBSE norms.

PROMOTION CRITERIA

  • A student must secure a minimum of 33% marks in each subject (including the additional subject and skill subject), separately in theory and in practical /project work / ASL, to be declared as ‘Pass’.

COMARTMENT EXAMINATION:

  • A student who fails in only one subject will be eligible to appear for a Compartment Examination.
  • To be promoted, the student must secure at least 33% marks in the Compartment Exam.
  • If a student is absent in one or two subjects due to medical reasons (supported by a valid Medical Certificate) and fails in another subject, she will be eligible to appear for the Compartment Exam in the failed subject as well as in those missed due to medical grounds.
  • If a student fails to obtain a minimum of 33% marks in the Retest/Compartment Exam, she will be detained and required to repeat Class XI.

PRINCIPAL

CLASS XII

The Academic Session consists of PT, Mid Term Exam and Annual Examination. The final result will be calculated on the basis of the overall performance of the students in the whole year both in Theory and Practical/ Internal Assessment.
