Examination Pattern

Class Nursery - KG

The academic session is divided into three cycles.

Cycle I
Cycle II
Cycle II

The evaluation will be continuous, comprehensive and internal where only grading system will be applicable.

CLASSES I & II

The Academic Session comprises of Two terms: Term I and Term II. Each term comprises of Internal Assessment and Term End Exam.

Internal Assessment (Per Term) – 20 marks

1. Periodic Test – 5 mark weightage

One written test will be conducted for 10 marks once in a term and 5 marks weightage will be considered for final marking.

2. Multiple Assessment – 05 marks weightage

Includes Reading, Recitation, Dictation, Dodging tables, Oral tests, etc.

3. Notebook – 05 marks weightage

Regularity in submission, neatness, completion of work on time, etc.

4. Subject Enrichment Activities – 05 marks weightage

Subject Specific Enrichment Activities aimed at the understanding and skill development like Speaking and Listening, Lab activities, Practical work, Project work etc.

Term End Exam – 30 marks

Written test will be conducted for 30 marks at the end of each term.

Classes III - V

The Academic Session comprises of Two terms: Term I and Term II. Each term comprises of Internal Assessment and Term End Exam.

Internal Assessment (Per Term) – 20 marks

1. Periodic Test – 5 mark weightage

One written test will be conducted for 25 marks once in a term and 5 marks weightage will be considered for final marking.

2. Multiple Assessment – 05 marks weightage

Includes Reading, Recitation, Dictation, Dodging tables, Oral tests, etc.

3. Portfolio – 05 marks weightage

It is a tool for assessing a variety of skills not usually testable in a single setting of the traditional written pen and paper tests. It is a record of the student’s exemplary work.

4. Subject Enrichment Activities – 05 marks weightage

Subject Specific Enrichment Activities aimed at the understanding and skill development like Speaking and Listening, Lab activities, Practical work, Project work etc.

Term End Exam – 30 marks

Written test will be conducted for 50 marks at the end of each term and 30 marks weightage will be considered for final marking.

CLASSES VI - VIII

The Academic Session comprises of Two terms: Term I and Term II. Each term comprises of Internal Assessment and Term End Exam.

Internal Assessment (Per Term) – 20 marks

1. Periodic Test – 5 mark weightage

One written test will be conducted for 25 marks once in a term and 5 marks weightage will be considered for final marking.

Oral tests, individual or group work, class discussion, concept maps, etc

CLASS IX

Academic Session comprises of Internal Assessment, Half Yearly Exam and Annual Exam.

Internal Assessment – 20 marks

1. Periodic Test – 5 mark weightage

Three written tests will be conducted for 25 marks and the average of the best two PTs (out of three) will be considered for final marking.

2. Multiple Assessment – 05 marks weightage

Oral tests, individual or group work, class discussion, concept maps, etc

3. Portfolio – 05 marks weightage

Class work, homework, exemplary work of the student, etc

4. Subject Enrichment Activities – 05 marks weightage

Subject Specific Enrichment Activities aimed at the understanding and skill development like Speaking and Listening, Lab activities, Practical work, Project work etc.

Half Yearly Exam – 30 marks

Written test will be conducted for 80 marks at mid-term and 30 marks weightage will be considered for final marking.

Annual Exam – 50 marks

Written test will be conducted for 80 marks at the end of the session and 50 marks weightage will be considered for final marking.

CLASS X

Academic Session comprises of Internal Assessment, Half Yearly Exam and Board Exam.

Internal Assessment – 20 marks

1. Periodic Test – 5 mark weightage

Three written tests will be conducted for 25 marks and the average of the best two PTs (out of three) will be considered for final marking.

2. Multiple Assessment – 05 mark weightage

Oral tests, individual or group work, class discussion, concept maps, etc.

Board Exams will be conducted at the end of the session by CBSE.

CLASS XI

The Academic Session consists of PTs, Mid Term Exam and Annual Examination. The final result will be calculated on the basis of the overall performance of the students in the whole year both in Theory and Practical/ Internal Assessment.

Written test will be conducted for 70/80 marks at the end of the session and 50 marks weightage will be considered for final marking.

CLASS XII

The Academic Session consists of PT, Mid Term Exam and Annual Examination. The final result will be calculated on the basis of the overall performance of the students in the whole year both in Theory and Practical/ Internal Assessment.
