REPORT ATHLETICS MEET FOR THE YEAR 2021- 22

The annual athletic meet of Zone XIII, Distt. N.W. – B2 – under 14 was held on 21 December 2021 at the Prahladpur Sports Complex. In this athletic meet, one of our students participated in 3 events namely 600mtr race, 200mtr race and Discuss Throw. She secured silver and bronze medals in 2 events. RESULT OF ZONAL BADMINTON COMPETITION

A Zonal badminton competition was organized by School Sports and Activities Committee (Directorate of Education) at Himalaya Public School, Sec-07, Rohini, and Delhi. All the schools of zone-XIII participated in it. The referee for the event were members of Directorate of Delhi. Laurels in Athletic Meet

The students of Queen’s Convent, Rohini participated in Zonal Athletic Meet held from 16-11-2017 to 18-11-2017 at sports complex, Pooth Kalan, Delhi with great zeal. Minal Rana of class IX-B and Deepanshi Mathur of class X-A secured I and II position in Discus Throw and Shot put respectively. A team of 32 students participated in March Past competition and secured the III position from Zone-XIII, out of 34 participating teams.

Further Minal Rana of class IX-B secured the II position in Discus Throw at Inter Zonal Athletic Meet held on 24-11-2017 at Chattrasal Stadium, Model Town in all over Delhi Zone.

REPORT OF STUDENT’S PERFORMANCE IN AI GLOBAL IMPACT FESTIVAL 2022

It is a matter of great pride that Saanvi Tayal of Class X A, got selected to represent India at the Intel AI Global Impact Festival 2022. The students had submitted an entry in the AI Impact Created (13-18 yrs) and was selected as one of the top 3 entries from India. Her entry was “Oil Spills Detector” which will monitor oceans 24/7 to timely detect oil spills and alert authorities for prompt cleaning before oil sinks in. In the Mentorship Bootcamp, under the guidance of Intel Mentors, she turned her idea into a working solution. Over 250 ideas from all over the country had got the opportunity for the mentorship bootcamp and from these projects, Oil Spill Detector was selected in top 20 giving her the golden chance to showcase her project in an offline manner in Ahmedabad from 21 July 2022 to 24 July 2022. Top 10 entries from country were submitted to Global Impact AI festival and her project got nominated as one of the top three entries from India.

Saanvi will now be participating at the International Level representing India.

MUKHYAMANTRI VIGYAN PRATIBHA PARIKSHA (MVPP) RESULT ( Session 2021-22 )

Mukhyamantri Vigyan Pratibha Pariksha is an Indian scholarship exam conducted each January by the Science Branch of the Directorate of Education in Delhi. It is open to students of recognized schools in Delhi. There are about 1000 scholarships awarded for MVPP per year.

In the notification that is released by the Science branch office of Govt. of Delhi, it is stated that an amount of Rs. 5000 will be awarded to top 1000 meritorious students. Candidates need to score above Cut Off Marks to get their name on the MVPP Merit List.

For the session 2021-22, the examination was held on 27 February 2022 and the results have been declared on 15 June 2022. From Queen’s Convent School, Delhi , seven students had attempted the examination. Lisha , a student of Class IX , has scored 143 marks out of 200 marks and got her name registered in the MVPP Merit List.

REPORT ON AISC CHALLENGE OF THE YEAR

AISC Forum (Artificial Intelligence Student Community in collaboration with Intel and CBSE had organized the ‘AISC Challenge of the Year’ in the month of Nov- Dec 2021 to provide students all over India with an opportunity to showcase their learning through their ideas and projects in Artificial Intelligence. The students stood a chance to win prizes and giveaways.

The competition was organized in two stages. In the first stage, students had to submit the ideas to solve any social problem using AI before 15 December 2021. Shortlisted winners of the first stage were announced on 16 December 2021. In the second stage, the students had to work on their shortlisted idea and make an AI based model and submit the model along with the YouTube video showing the working of the model.

It is a matter of great pride for the school that Saanvi Tayal of IX A has won the Second Position in the AISC Challenge of the Year. She has received an HP Laptop as reward for securing Second Position in this prestigious challenge.

REPORT ON ROAD SAFETY COMPETITIONS

‘ALERT TODAY- ALIVE TOMORROW’

Road and transport have become an integral part of life, shortening the distance, and cutting down the time to travel from one place to another besides improving access to essential commodities and services. Along with the conveniences it brings, lots of risks. The World Health Organisation estimates that about 1.3 million people are injured in road accidents every year globally. According to the organisation, road accidents are a major cause of deaths among all age groups. The Indian Ministry of Road Transport and Highway attributes the cause of crashes to carelessness or lack of road safety awareness.

Road Safety Cell - Delhi Traffic Police took up the challenge to save millions of lives and prevent injuries by organising various Road Safety Competitions such as Mime Act, Poetry Recitation, Slogan Writing, etc. for the school students to appraise them of road danger and the importance of following traffic rules. The host had asked the participating schools to send the images and videos of the students’ performances in various events to the email address of the host.

Students from Queen’s Convent School, Rohini also participated in the events of this competition and showcased their talents.

Sana Das and Jahanvi Rattan of Class VII participated in Mime Act, Shivangi Bisht of Class IX and Nehuti of Class X participated in Poetry Recitation, Priyal Bhalla and Vidhi of Class VIII participated in Slogan Writing and, Muskaan Khattar and Kunchika Widhani of Class XI participated in Quiz.

National Level Science Talent Search Examination

The School provides a platform to the students to appear for various competitive National and International level assessments. Ishika Khatri of Queen’s Convent School, Delhi meets the Honorable Prime Minister

It was a proud moment for the School that Ishika Khatri of class IX got the opportunity to attend the third edition of “Pariksha Pe Charcha” organized at Talkatora Indoor Stadium in Delhi on 20 January 2020. This initiative was started by the Hon’ble Prime Minister three years ago.

Ishika Khatri was among 2000 students who were selected through an online essay competition conducted by the Ministry of HRD all across the country. These selected students were invited along with their teachers and parents to interact with the Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi. The PM interacted with students and teachers. He shared “valuable tips” with them to ensure they face the upcoming board and entrance exams in a relaxed manner.

Responding to a student’s query on dealing with depression, the Prime Minister offered a solution to the students that whatever problem is the cause of their depression, it should be written on a page and torn into small pieces. The Prime Minister answered queries of students from all across the country. The audience were entertained by the premiere though the issues undertaken by him were quite profound. The PM concluded the interactive session with wishing all the students of classes X and XII a stress free and successful examinations.

It was a matter of great pride for the school when 40 students of Queen’s Convent School, Rohini received Gold medals in the Hindi Olympiad conducted by Hindi Vikas Manch.

The Felicitation ceremony was organised by Mascot Press at NDMC Convocation Hall, Sansad Marg.. The Programme was graced by Sh. Surrender Sharma, Hindi Poet and Humorist as Chief Guest along with Mr. Vijay Kumar Sharma, Chairperson of Mascot press and DR. Pradeep Bhardwaj Chairperson of Sigma.

377 students of Queen’s Convent School, Rohini had appeared for the Hindi Olympiad. Out of these 377 students, 40 students bagged Gold, 93 students bagged Silver and 37 students bagged Bronze.

Two students Vanshika Veera of Class XII and Avni Class III had bagged the III Position at the National Level Competition for which they were awarded with Trophy, Certificate and a Cash Prize of Rs. 1100/- each.

The school received a Trophy and a Certificate for encouraging and promoting Hindi language amongst the Young Children. A special mention of the School Principal Ms. Nalini Andrew was made at the ceremony for working towards the progress and promotion of the language and inculcating due respect for the same in the young learners.

Ms. Punita Mishra and Ms. Preeti Walia, HODs - HINDI Department were also felicitated during the programme. It is the endeavour of the school to provide a platform to the students to excel both academically and in a competitive world.

Our School had participated in the MUN meet in Titiksha Public School on 15 and 16 October 2016. 150 delegates from various schools had participated from various schools in the meet. From Queen's Convent Rohini, Sonal Beniwal and Nishtha Rikhi of Class XII had participated as the delegtaes of Japan. Sonal Beniwal secured III Position (Special Mention) in the competition.

Our School has secured 38th position out of 1983 schools in Delhi in CBSE 2016 RESULTS and at the ALL INDIA LEVEL 310th position out of approx 7100 schools.

Another Feather in the School’s Cap

Aashima Jain of class XII (Commerce Stream) has been awarded a Certificate of Merit in Economics subject by the Central Board of Secondary Education in the Senior School Certificate Examination 2017-2018.

The board awards the certificate in each subject to the top 0.1% of the successful candidates in the Board Examination in order to recognize their qualities and outstanding performance.

A Heritage quiz enriches the students to build up their knowledge about the tradition, language and culture of our country

This time our school participated in the Interschool Heritage Quiz Competition organized by Vikas Bharti Public school on 29th April 2023. It is a matter of great pride that the school quiz team won the first position in the same.

Guru Nanak Public School, Punjabi Bagh, organised an online Interschool Competition. A Hindi declamation contest was organised in which students from different schools from all over India participated enthusiastically. Few Schools from outside India also participated in it.

In the event, the students from class VIII to XII were required to prepare a declamation in Hindi on a given topic and they were judged on the basis of Content, Articulation and Presentation ,Enunciation and Pronunciation, Expressiveness and Cohesiveness .

The participant from Queen’s Convent School was Preet Chaudhary from Class IX A. She performed enthusiastically and secured the Third position.

The history of the world is full of people who rose to the occasion and proved themselves by the sheer force of self-confidence, bravery, and tenacity. The young, ignited minds of our society are our greatest assets. We, at Queen’s Convent School, Rohini, cherish these youngsters and encourage them to explore their true potential by awakening their passions and cultivating their talents. The students of our school participate in various interschool and intra-school competitions, where they not only prove their mettle but also present tough competition for the other participants.

Queen’s Convent Wins the Rolling Trophy of KRITI – an Inter School Competition

In the month of May 2020 our students participated in an Inter School Competition - Kriti (Creating the Creation) which was organised by DAV Public School, Ashok Vihar, Delhi. The host school had asked the participating schools to upload the videos of the students’ performances in various events on You Tube and to forward the links/scanned images to the email address of the host school. Our students participated in all the events of this competition. The competitions ranged from computer based to dance, art, news reporting, singing, cooking etc. The participation involved parents and children (in a few events) from classes I to XII. NavyaMandirattaof class III won the Second Position in ‘Appreciate The Angels’ by expressing her gratitude and appreciating the Corona warriors in the form of a speech. Myra Bisht of class IV won the First Position as a show stopper in ‘Fashion Facing The Fear’, modeling on the theme of how would be her first day after the Corona crisis is over. MahikaBaluja of class V won the First Position in ‘Paint-Peace’, a poster making competition. She aptly drew her feelings of pain and peace during the Corona period. Besides winning in these three competitions, our school also bagged the Rolling Trophy.

Queen’s Convent shines at FUTURAMA 2

‘Futurama2’ an inter school competition was organized by Himalaya Public Senior Secondary School in the month of June 2020. Presenting her ideas ‘For Saving the Mankind by Generation Z’, SwarniManzkhola of class XI A designed a Web Portal on the “Impact of Bio- Weapon on Human Race” and bagged the First Position in the E- STEMpetition.

Sana Das of class VII A participated in Rang Manch (Mono Acting) on the theme ‘AaoJeeyen Corona Sang’ and secured the Third Position. The die hard and never ending spirit and enthusiasm of the children is quite commendable and will continue to bring laurels to the school.

The Intra house Spell Bee Competition for classes I-II was held in the school premises. This competition was one of the numerous enjoyable competitions that give students a platform to learn spellings in different ways. This competition helped students improve their spellings, increase their vocabulary, learn concepts.

There were three rounds- two spelling words, four spelling words and students wrote three and four spelling words on a piece of paper. The teacher incharge repeated the word twice and students spelled the words Children participated enthusiastically in the competition. Their efforts and initiative was appreciated by one and all.

From every House there were two participants. The judgement was based on the pronunciation and accuracy.The result of the competition was as follows:

WHAT’S A GOOD WORD

Classes I and II

An inter house competition What’s the good word’ was organised for classes I and II on 18-January-2019. There were three rounds in the activity. In round 1, the students were required to identify pictures and spell them correctly. In round 2, the students had to form two or three letter words using the word ‘HIPPOPOTAMUS’ and in the last round the students were required to spell different words.

The students worked in pairs well and participated in the three rounds enthusiastically. The result was based on the total of the three rounds which is as follows:

ZONAL TAEKWONDO COMPETITION

A zonal level TAEKWONDO competition was organized by School Sports and Activities Committee (Directorate of Education) at Delhi International School, Sec-3, Rohini and Govt. Co. Ed. WHAT'S THE GOOD WORD

An Inter-house Vocabulary Quiz Competition had been organized by Queen's Convent, Rohini on 20 August 2018. The topic of the competition was What's the Good Word. The quiz was divided into five rounds. In the first three rounds, the questions based on Homonyms, Homophones and One word for the group of words were asked. Spell check was also done in the fourth and fifth round. The fourth round was a buzzer round and the fifth was of dictation. Two students of each house from classes VI-IX participated in the quiz. The students were very enthusiastic and had prepared well for the competition. Everyone participated enthusiastically. The quiz was judged by Ms. Chinky Khurana and Ms. Shilpy Tyagi. Report on Inter House Competition (2018-19)

“Spin a Yarn”

The School organized an Inter House Competition on 10 August 2018 for Classes III to V in the school premises. A team of four students from each house ie, Mother Teresa, Florence Nightingale, Sarojini Naidu and Helen Keller was shown few pictures on the spot and each team was given ten minutes to arrange those in sequence and narrate a story based on the pictures given. Each team was judged on the basis of expression, presentation and confidence. Such type of competitions help in enhancing the vocabulary and confidence level of the students. The judges of the event Ms. Deepika Aggarwal and Ms. Sanjana Gupta were truly mesmerized by the efforts put in by all the participants. The result of the competition was-

CLASSES :III - V

An interhouse competition ‘Poetry Dramatisation’ was organized on Thursday, 09 August, 2018 in Senior Library in the school premises. The students were given two minutes to dramatise on any one topic from the three topics namely Social Injustice, Childhood and Season.

Our school students showcased their talents with full enthusiasm. The judgement was based on content, fluency, coordination, expression, confidence, costume and overall presentation.

Report on InterSchool Competition

Queen’s Convent, Rohini had participated in an Inter School Competition SATURNALIA on April 27, 2018 at St .Margaret Senior Secondary School, Rohini. Forty two schools participated in various events. Our school participated in fourteen events out of fifteen . Queen’s Convent secured SECOND POSITION in MYSTIC MATHS competition and bagged THIRD POSITION in SHLOKA VACHAN .The Rolling Trophy was collected by Adharshila Public School. Overall it was a great learning experience for the participants.

Inter House Competition-Poetry Dramatization (2018-19)

An Inter House Competition- Poetry Dramatization was held on 23 April 2018 in the school premises. There were two categories Group I (VI &VII) and Group II (VIII & IX). Two students from each houses participated in the competition. One student recited a narrative poem and the other child dramatised it. The Competition was judged by the Co-ordinators : Ms. Usha Ross, Ms. Punita Mishra and Ms. Vinitha R. International French Spell Bee 2017

The Grand Finale of the Fifth International French Spell Bee competition was organised by Frehindi Pvt. Ltd. on 16 January 2018 at C.D. Deshmukh Auditorium, Lodhi Estate, New Delhi. Adhisthatri Devi Vats of class IX D had qualified for the Final Round of the competition. Only seven schools from Delhi and NCR region had qualified for the grand finale, our school being one of them.

Our student had qualified for the round of competition after clearing two levels- written as well as online quiz. It was an international event in which student participants from other countries like Abu Dhabi, Switzerland, Qatar, and Dubai had participated.

M. Jorge de la Calle Martin, Director of Strategic Global Development and M. Javier Blazquez Frances, Director of International Activities from Gredos San Diego Group of schools in Europe felicitated the winners of the International French Spell Bee 2017. This Occasion was also a good opportunity to meet and greet dignitaries from various embassies and educationists from abroad. It was a very enriching experience. Adhisthatri Devi Vats of class IX D received Gold Medal and certificate from the esteemed guests.

Ms. Rakhi Thakral, French Teacher also received a certificate as a good trainer, mentor and educator for promoting French among the young learners of the language.

DISTRICT Hindi Debate Competition

The DISTRICT Hindi Debate Competition was held on 16.10. 2017 in Adhaarshila Vidyapeeth CD Block , Pitampura .

Boski Pandey VIIIC and Gaurvi Monga VIII B won the First Position in the Junior Category (girls) amongst nine schools .The topic of the debate was आधुनिक जीवन शैली भारतीय संस्कृति की विनाशक है|

Report of Inter School competitions for the month of July 2017

With great pride that we submit that our school children have brought laurels for all of us by securing various winning positions in St. Xavier’s School, Shahbad, Daulatpur , DAV Public School, Pushpanjali Enclave and Zonal level competitions. The details of the same are as follows.

The State level Science Exhibition and Science Activities was organized by Directorate of Education, GNCT of Delhi. There are three level Zonal, Science center and state level. On 8. 12. 22 Zonal level science activities was conducted at Sarvodaya Vidyala , sector 3 . Rohini.Approximately 44 schools participated in it . Our school participated in Poster, Slogan, debate and sci - toon . It is a matter of great pride for our school as the student of our school secured 2nd Position in Sci - toon under the guidance of Ms Usha Ross Ms Sumona Lahiri.

Zonal Competition 2021

The Zonal competitions for the session 2021-2022 were held in the month of December 2021 due to the pandemic.
Our School participated in the Zonal Competitions English and Hindi (Junior Category) from 16 December 2021 to 18 December 2021.
